Be sure to follow the instructions. I strayed and had to take some stuff off because I forgot a ring. Use the proper size phillips screwdriver so you dont strip the screws. It works and has little sound. It took me about an hour to install.

I have installed many ceiling fans and this one was one of the easiest to assemble. The instructions are clear and all parts are easy to identify and put together. Very often there is mismatch or bad alignment for screw holes and threads, not so for this fan. The blades are plastic, made to look like wood. That means they are fairly light and don't ding as easy as wood. The light weight comes in handy when you are trying to hang it, because this is a model where you have to assemble the entire fan before hanging it in the bracket. It comes with three different length downrods, so you can adjust to different ceiling heights. The bracket is sturdy and fits the standard fan box perfectly. The fan can be mounted on a sloped ceiling, which is what I did. However, that will make it a little tricky to hang because the receiver for the remote is quite big and when at an angle, the top of the rod intrudes into the space in the bracket. It took some finagling to slide it in. I wish they made the receiver thinner or the bracket space bigger. The fan looks very nice and the included remote work very well. You can easily adjust all settings and the lights. On the highest setting, this fan moves a lot of air and is still fairly quiet. We are happy with this fan and find the price to be a bargain for the quality and function you get.

The fan in one of our bedrooms "popped" when it was turned on and black smoke came out the top of the fan motor, so I guess it's time to replace it. I ordered this one as an upgrade with LED lights and a remote control. Install was straightforward and the instructions were good.

I have two issues with this fan, though. First, the light hums pretty loudly at the max brightness, especially with the mixed 4500K setting. With it on 3000K it's quieter, and with it just slightly dimmed, the hum is mostly gone. But I don't know why this hums - I have a lot of LED fixtures in the house now with variable color temperature and I don't get a hum from any of them. Second, the system doesn't have a memory function, so if you want to use a wall switch to turn on the light and then use the remote to run the fan, the wall switch will reset the fan to the 4500K light with max brightness. I will have to wire it direct and use the remote as the only control for this fan/light combo.
